Flying Start to the Year at Riverside

There is a flurry of activity at Riverside with a flying start to the year.  Come and escape the grey days and linger for a coffee or brunch at The Brasserie or our Riverside Café.  There are plenty of foodie treats to keep you warm over these months – home reared beef and pork from May’s Farm Cart and don’t forget they have the vegetables and seasonings to go in those winter stews in their deli.  If you don’t have much time on your hands then make the most of their homemade pies and sausage rolls to take away with you.  There is a fantastic range of fresh fish on offer too from Bickerstaff’s and we recommend their Springs smoked salmon, herrings and frozen Atlantic prawns for an easy dish at home.

If its a new year spruce up you are looking for head to The Barber Shop for a haircut or hot shave.  If you have more time on your hands or are looking to take up a new hobby – look no further than the-stitchery and Art & Framing where their friendly team will help you with starter knitting kits to finding all the gear for those that are already experts.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas … at Riverside

Come and join us for some mulled wine and mine pies and you can relax from the Christmas Shopping in Riverside Cafe or upstairs in the Brasserie.  It is a busy time of year but Riverside helps to make it enjoyable for you – one stop to buy your food, Christmas goodies and gifts and even get that much needed spruce up before Christmas from The Barber Shop.  May’s Farm Cart are busy taking Christmas orders of turkeys, geese and all the festive goodies but why not make your own hamper or fill a bag with cheeses, apple juice, honey and crackers – a Christmas gift that anyone would be happy to receive.  If you are looking for the creative present then stop no further than the-stitchery upstairs where you can find a wealth of art and craft products from TashTori and Saira and Victoria’s team are on hand to help with those last minute stocking fillers or ideas to make your home sparkle this year.  Why not make your own gravadlax this year and surprise your friends – you can order your side of salmon from Bickerstaff’s and they have lots of smoked treats from Springs as well as pickled herrings – ideal for the smorgasbord relief to the turkey.  Finally we all know that we love the glitter of gold coins and candy canes in our Christmas stockings; Poppy’s have a large range of traditional chocolate goodies as well as some fun surprises that work well as presents too.  Come and explore for yourselves.
